Great article, however a few more componnets of the home may help such as where would replacing the furnace to a high efficient, shingles, paint (interior/exterior), landscaping all stand. I'd appriciate your feedback. Pat

The Appraisal Institute of Canada has an excellent online tool call RENOVA that will calculate the payback amount of the 20 most popular renovation improvements. I believe the payback for a furnace upgrade is 50% to 75%. Go to http://component.aicanada.ca/e/resourcecenter_renova.cfm
